Dean Radinovsky: Large Abstract Paintings

Meet and Greet Reception: 12 pm –2 pm, Friday, May 6, 2016
Also on view in the lobby of 42 Broadway: The large-scale "Primitive Icon" (through November 7, 2016) Hours: Monday - Saturday, 8am - 5pm
My large abstract paintings explore the relationship between human psychology and the visual manifestations of natural phenomena. Like an experience in an evocative place, they unfold over time for the careful observer. A great many subtle, complex layers of color and tone play against bold visual strokes. Only through the title do I steer the viewer towards meaning, but for me, a painting like Twilight Surf addresses the question "what is it like to be and feel in a landscape' rather than answering the question 'what does the landscape look like?" Or, in the case of Cheshire, "is the Cheshire Cat transparent (honest), or invisible (duplicitous)."
Curated by chashama. "chashama nurtures artists by transforming unused property into work and presentation space." www.chashama.org For more information, email: contact@deanradinovsky.org The creation of this artwork has been made possible through a Chashama visual arts studio award.
